Welcome Days in Judenbung

A new term has begun.

Many students have returned to their universities, others have just started a new chapter in their lives.

But for Erasmus students, the semester started with a little journey.

Welcome Weekend is such an exciting event that marks the beginning of an exciting journey for incoming students.

This semester we had a lot of participants from different countries like Germany, Spain, Belgium, Hungary, the UK, Switzerland, Ukraine, Italy, the Netherlands, France. Our professors and newcomers had a really great time in a small town in the western part of Styria.

Day 1: Arrival and orientation

The trip began with a warm welcome on campus. During this meeting, incoming students had the opportunity to explore various aspects of campus life through guided tours and information sessions. Students were provided with all the necessary information about studying abroad.

From the campus the students went to the main station to start their first group trip. With their Erasmus buddies they arrived in Judenburg. In the evening, the students were welcomed by the professors. During this event, the students received the first instructions according to the further workshop. Later on, the Erasmus Buddies organized a game night where the students could get to know each other better.

Day 2: Activities. Friday – fun day

The second day of the trip started with sports activities. Our staff and students went climbing.

Throughout the weekend, the students improved their teamwork skills by completing various tasks related to their personalities. For example, they had to create a poster about why they chose Graz as a place to study and some interesting facts about themselves.

The Welcome Weekend is an excellent opportunity for students not only to work in interactive workshops and express themselves, but also to improve their teamwork skills.

Students had the opportunity to exchange cultural aspects. It’s always exciting to learn new things about different countries, especially important if You spend a lot of time in one country.

The students took the first step into the ITC course. They have already attended the first theoretical class.

Day 3: Back to Graz

The last day in Judenburg was spent by the students presenting their very first task – a poster about the Erasmus+ programme – and giving the first feedback.

After the presentations, the students and Erasmus buddies returned to Graz.
